In the Asian market the energy crisis sparked by the war on Iran is driving uneven costs higher with the Asian Development Bank cutting its growth forecast for developing Asia and the Pacific to 4.7 percent this year from 5.1 percent previously. In the UK market Britain has announced sanctions against 35 people and entities involved in recruiting vulnerable migrants to fight for Russia in Ukraine and in producing drones for the conflict. US GDP data just released shows the quarterly contraction came in better than feared at negative 0.77 percent versus an estimate of negative 0.97 percent while the yearly figure beat at 5.61 percent. SPX is trading at 7200.75 up 0.87 percent on the day while the VIX sits at 17.73 down 1.23 percent. This mix of resilient US growth and geopolitical tension is likely to keep volatility in focus for US options traders heading into tomorrow's open.
