How are these signals generated? Click to expand
VIXShield uses a rules-based, quantitative methodology to generate daily SPX Iron Condor signals:
- EDR Entry Gate — Measures SPX daily move range relative to ATR. Signals are only generated when volatility is within acceptable bounds.
- VIX Entry Gate — VIX must be at or below a defined threshold at the 3:05pm CST reading.
- Iron Condor Structure — $5-wide credit spreads on both sides (put spread below + call spread above), creating a defined-risk position.
- Three Risk Tiers — Conservative (widest body, lowest credit), Balanced (moderate), Aggressive (tighter body, higher credit).
- Win condition — SPX closes within the short strikes on the next trading day (1DTE expiry).
